Hey All - Copy and Paste my Street Fair Rants. We normally appreciate the May Street Fair because we get close to a normal day of sales but we aren’t even close to where we should be by 1 PM and my staff is bored and frankly, we’ve had enough.

Thank goodness the June 14th Pride Day when our very own puts on a big community focused event that celebrates our storefront and our and restores our community energy.

Is it time we have a conversation that also includes our residents in what the street fairs and promenades and tourism should look like for Nyack ? Time to go back to the drawing board.

We should be celebrating Nyack Arts & Crafts format and jazz night should be a village wide event, and we should see more amazing artist pop up nights and a resurgence of arts walks and first Friday… did anyone else go to ? For the first time in 7 years I felt like we were back to being the Nyack I remembered. Maybe the Brooklyn transplants who are now the fabric of our community can teach us how to return to our core?
