Tonight, North Eight officially started to feel real.

For the first time, we brought together the incredible group of people who will make up the North Eight Kitchen & Cocktails team.

A beautiful building and great food can only take you so far. It’s the people inside who create the experience, take care of our guests, and ultimately make a restaurant special.

Tonight was about welcoming our new team, getting to know one another, and beginning the journey together.

We’ve spent a long time planning, building and preparing for this moment and now we’re getting very close.

Welcome to the North Eight family. We can’t wait for Novi to meet you.

Well… we did it. 😂

After months of hard work, countless meetings, phone calls and intense negotiations with the City of Novi and the Road Commission… Novi Road between 8 & 9 Mile is officially OPEN!

Okay, fine. We had absolutely nothing to do with it. 😂

But the timing couldn’t be better.

Novi Road is open, North Eight is getting ready to open, and getting to us just got a whole lot easier.

Coincidence? We’ll let you decide. 😉

Lunch at North Eight is getting its own menu. Available 1130 to 3 PM daily. 

We’re not just shrinking down the dinner menu for lunch. We’ve created a delicious lunch-only lineup with sandwiches, salads and dishes made specifically for the middle of the day.

Here’s a little sneak peek at just a few of the sandwiches we’ve been tasting… and yes, tasting lunch might be one of the better parts of getting ready to open.

Meet Mike Richardson — Co-Owner of Benstein Grille and North Eight Kitchen & Cocktails.

Mike has spent most of his life in the restaurant business, including successful years with Outback Steakhouse and opening Brio at Partridge Creek.

Funny enough, we met through our daughters playing softball. What started with me asking Mike for a little restaurant advice turned into an 11+ year, 50/50 business partnership — and an even better friendship.

Mike has been instrumental in the success of Benstein Grille, and over the past eight months, he has poured everything into bringing North Eight to life. From architects, engineers and contractors to city approvals, vendors and the million little details in between — Mike has been there every step of the way, usually with his toolbox close by.

I couldn’t have built either of these restaurants without him, and I’m not sure I would have wanted to take this ride with anyone else.

My business partner and, more importantly, my friend.

This is definitely going to be a top seller. It certainly has class and comfort food written all over it.

Meet our Boursin Chicken — bone-in chicken breast with creamy Boursin, morel dust, leek, oyster mushrooms, bacon lardons and thyme jus.

Rich, savory, a little indulgent…and definitely worth saving room for.
