Stumbled upon an estate sale by pure chance (you know we can’t resist!)… Most of the works were already spoken for or too expensive, but this was waiting for us: a modernist abstract still life of stylized pears on a rich, moody background. Oil on canvas, unframed, circa 1980. 🍐

Signed by Patti Hirsch—a prolific artist who worked between NYC and Fairfield County, showing her bold, and traditionally inspired Nature Morte works throughout the mid to late 20th century.

*** Our Heartfelt Goodbye ***

It’s with a really heavy heart that we’ve decided to close down 1920 Bar and Bistro and Hatter Piano Bar. This wasn’t an easy decision, and one that was made after much thought and due to unavoidable personal circumstances.

We’ve loved every moment, and the privilege of serving Norwalk—sharing meals, laughs, and creating memories that we’ll never forget. We’re so thankful for all the support and the friendships that have formed within our walls.

Running 1920 and Hatter has been an incredible journey, and we owe our success to our amazing staff and the wonderful community that embraced us. Although we’re turning the page on this chapter, the memories you have given us will last a lifetime.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
