From Gevrey Chambertin to the Jura.

At just 20 years old, Louis Fourrier stepped into a remarkable family legacy.

The Fourrier name has been tied to Gevrey Chambertin for five generations, with Jean Marie Fourrier establishing a reputation for wines defined by precision, purity, and terroir. After graduating high school in 2023, Louis joined the family trade with a different challenge in mind: build something of his own while carrying that legacy forward.

In 2024, that opportunity arrived in the Jura.

The Fourrier family acquired Château de l’Étoile, a historic estate with roots stretching back centuries and roughly 17 hectares of vines in one of the Jura’s smallest appellations. Louis saw something particularly special in the site: soils with an uncanny resemblance to those of Puligny Montrachet.

His vision is distinctly Burgundian, but unmistakably Jura.

Rather than embracing the region’s more oxidative traditions, Louis favors ouillé wines, keeping barrels topped to preserve freshness and minimize oxygen exposure. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by aging in older barrels with no new oak.

The result is a lineup built around purity, tension, freshness, and mineral character: Chardonnay and Savagnin from L’Étoile, the single vineyard Clos du Château Chardonnay, Clos de la Colinette Savagnin, and a vibrant Côtes du Jura Rouge made from equal parts Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir.

A historic estate. A fifth generation winemaking family. A 20 year old with something to prove.

The Fourrier story is taking a fascinating new turn in the Jura.

As the days grow longer and Chicago begins to shake off the last of winter, we invite you to celebrate the arrival of May with a vibrant walk-around tasting dedicated to fresh, expressive, and thoughtfully priced white wines from around the world.



This event will spotlight a curated selection from Kobrand Wine and Spirits' renowned portfolio, highlighting producers and regions known for crafting wines that overdeliver. Bottles that are as compelling in quality as they are approachable in price. The idea is these wines are easy to open, easy to share, and endlessly enjoyable as we move into spring and summer.



The tasting will take on a familiar and much-loved format, similar to our Holiday Champagne event. Multiple stations will be set up throughout the store, allowing you to explore at your own pace while discovering a wide range of styles and regions. Whether you prefer crisp and mineral-driven whites, aromatic and floral expressions, or rounder, more textured wines, there will be something here that fits your moment.
