Many of you know Fitzwilly’s has been part of downtown Northampton for over 50 years. That story began with Roger Kirwood, who opened Fitzwilly’s in 1974.

We are saddened to share the passing of Roger.

Roger created more than a restaurant — he created a place where people gathered, celebrated, worked, laughed, and made lifelong memories. His vision, personality, hospitality, and love of community helped shape Fitzwilly’s into the institution it remains today.

For generations of guests, employees, friends, and families, Roger’s influence has been felt within these walls and throughout Northampton.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Roger’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Thank you, Roger, for starting something truly special. Your legacy lives on at Fitzwilly’s.

Fresh local asparagus is here and we’re celebrating one of Western Massachusetts’ best seasons 🌱

Our chefs put together a special asparagus-inspired menu featuring everything from grilled Hadley asparagus and handmade ricotta gnocchi to spring salmon risotto, roasted asparagus salad, and creative seasonal sandwiches. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or drinks outside , this menu is all about fresh flavors, local ingredients, and spring in Northampton.

🥣 Cream of Asparagus Soup – $8
Made with local Hadley asparagus, onion, and garlic. Rich, creamy, and fresh.

🦑 Calamari Fritta – $12
Lightly breaded and flash fried, tossed with garlic butter and banana peppers. Served with marinara for dipping.

🔥 Smoked Pork Tomahawk – $23
Frenched bone-in pork chop, slow smoked and finished on the grill. Served with chimichurri sauce, asparagus, and mashed potato.

🐟 Spring Salmon Risotto – $26
Creamy lemon ricotta risotto with fresh mint, wild mushrooms, and asparagus, topped with a grilled salmon fillet.

🥩 Filet Mignon with Mushroom Demi – $38
Tender beef filet finished with a wild mushroom demi glace. Served with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus.

Classic chicken cutlet topped with marinara, mozzarella, and parmesan over angel hair pasta. Served with a garlic crostini.
