ROUTE 28 TRAFFIC CIRCLE PROPOSAL NORTH CREEK, NY

Apparently, after a lot of discussion this winter (and more than a few “why is traffic like this?" moments on busy ski weekends), NYDOT has been working on a potential solution...

A European-style roundabout at the Route 28 / Main Street intersection near Basil & Wick's to improve traffic flow to and from Gore Mountain.

* Single-lane traffic circle with continuous flow
* Clearly marked pedestrian crossings
* "Yield to Skiers' priority signage (yes, really)
* A small rotating Adirondack-themed art installation in the center

A public comment meeting is being scheduled at Tannery Pond Center

Target timeline for pilot installation: Summer 2026

This is a huge change for our small town, so feedback is going to be important as this moves forward. I’m curious to hear what people think... would this help or hurt? (And yes... you'll still be able to get into Stewart’s!)

I am not able to post on the North Creek Bulletin Board page so I am posting here and sharing there... crazy!

Pre-reunion Reunion! Downing Braley, Romeo, is in town for the upcoming class reunion and met up with his Juliet, Jane VanVoorhis Peter for this photo op/retrospective - what?!? We'll see everybody Friday at Beck's and Saturday at the Ski Bowl - all classes invited to join us!
