Telmo Rodríguez spent decades rescuing forgotten Spanish wine regions before turning his attention to Sierra de Gredos. Pegaso is that project — old garnacha vines on pizarra, the dark slate soils that define the mountain’s most compelling terroir.

Barrancas de Pizarra is the single-vineyard expression. Structured, mineral, age-worthy. The kind of wine that reminds you why old vines on difficult ground matter.

Here’s everything that’s on the table June 20 at the Dashi Grand Tasting — from $16 Monastrell to a $175 Adrianna Vineyard Chardonnay, with stops in Rioja, Rías Baixas, Bierzo, Tenerife, Maule, and Mendoza along the way.

On Saturday we're pouring 50 wines and you're invited.

Spain, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay — walk-around format, two hours, $50/person. Spanish snacks included. And anything you want to take home gets 10% off retail, purchased at the event.

The lineup runs deep: five expressions of albariño, godello from Bierzo and Ribeira Sacra, a full run through Rioja and Ribera del Duero, garnacha from Sierra de Gredos, Chilean País and Cinsault from Itata and Maule, Argentine Chardonnay from Valle de Uco, Monastrell from Jumilla — plus a handful of bottles you genuinely won't find at most tastings.

Adrianna Vineyard sits at 5,000 feet in the Uco Valley. Catena Zapata has been farming it since 1992 and it has become one of the most discussed high-altitude vineyard sites in the world.

White Bones is the Chardonnay parcel — named for the calcium-rich limestone soils that give the wine its signature precision and tension. The 2023 earned 91 points from Robert Parker. It’s a serious bottle at a serious address, and it’s on the table Saturday alongside the broader Argentine lineup.
