Slash X Ranch Cafe "ALL DIRT ROADS LEAD TO SLASH X RANCH" Slash X has been showcase on “Visiting with Huell Howser” , T.V. This place has history, from the past to the present.
(2831)

Show with Huell Howser himself taking the tour…what a tour it is. Hear stories about the original rancher /fiddler Lee Berry and his wife Mary and how the ranch got its start, their famous once own Appaloosa horse “Joker B”. Hollywood has used Slash X for its unique presents in commercials and movies, the most noted “Erin Brochovich Story” starring Julia Roberts, ( come and sit at the chair Julia

sat at during the filming of the bar scene ). When pulling in you will notice very unusual vehicles, that‘s, because it’s the favorite of all off-roaders. You will often see street bikes, hot rods, and sometime planes and helicopters. When you open the doors you will find a unique place. Over 3,000 signed hats on the ceiling, walls covered with race memorabilia from the racers. The Food is GREAT! Fresh cut fries to order; order the mountain, all I can say BIG and delicious. Hamburgers OHV (off highway vehicle burger) The Cycle, ATC, Quad burgers and special order is the 16 wheeler; all are “lip smacking good”. There is the Hog Dog, and new to the menu is the “Junkyard Dog” they say it comes back to bite you every time. The O Rings are scrumptious. So after a hard ride in the desert, come with your family and friends and enjoy the outside patio it’s an experience, you won’t forget. . . Great Food! Great Atmosphere! Its location is 8miles south of Barstow, off of Barstow Road Hwy 247. Brian would say “Out here all Roads Lead, to the Slash X Ranch”.

🚨 PUBLIC LAND ACCESS UPDATE 🚨

CORVA is closely monitoring a recent federal policy change that could impact the future of motorized recreation and public access on federally managed lands.

President Trump recently signed an Executive Order rescinding several longstanding Executive Orders that have influenced federal land management for decades. Of particular interest to the off-road community is the removal of requirements commonly associated with the "minimization criteria" used in OHV route designation and travel management planning.

For years, these criteria have been used by federal agencies when evaluating motorized access. While intended to address resource concerns, they have often been applied in ways that contributed to route closures, restrictions, and lengthy planning processes that reduced public access across millions of acres of public land.

What does this mean?

⚠️ It does NOT automatically reopen closed trails.
⚠️ It does NOT reverse existing travel management decisions.
⚠️ Federal laws, regulations, and environmental review requirements still remain in place.

However, it may provide agencies with greater flexibility to:

✔️ Better consider public access in land management decisions.
✔️ Reduce unnecessary barriers to responsible recreation.
✔️ Streamline future travel management planning.
✔️ Better balance conservation and recreation opportunities.

CORVA supports responsible recreation, sound stewardship, and science-based management. We also believe public lands should remain accessible to the public and managed under the long-standing principle of multiple use.

As implementation of this Executive Order unfolds, CORVA will continue working with agencies, elected officials, partner organizations, and recreation stakeholders to ensure California's off-road community has a voice in the process.

The work is far from over, but developments like this remind us why staying engaged in land-use policy matters.
