Some moments we only ever get to dream about.
Some come true. Like the unforgettable blossom tree tea party we had with our dear friends a couple of years ago.
Rarely do we get to REPEAT a dream come true, though, right?
I feel so lucky to have done just that with our friends under their Tea Tree when it bloomed recently.
After years of dreaming about a tea party like this, we actually pulled it off two years ago.
Then, this spring, we noticed their tree was about to bloom, the weather looked good and we hadn’t seen them in ages.
So we reached out, scheduled the time, packed up all the tea things (including a table and chairs) made the scones, drove to their house, set it all up,and spent a lovely couple of hours reminiscing and reconnecting.
These are people that used to host us and our children for fancy holiday tea parties, electric train extravaganzas, summer dinners on the terrace in their magical Monet style garden, and the most epic Halloween experiences you can imagine.
They encouraged my daughter’s artistic nature by purchasing her hand painted greeting cards and even commissioned her to paint a giant scenic backdrop for their Christmas train setup.
Now they’re older and not necessarily up for hosting. But we still love them dearly, stand in awe of their beautiful garden, and enjoy their company. They still want to have tea with us, share garden tips, and hear all about our grown up kids and everything they’re doing.
So we repeated the tea party under their gorgeous blossom tree and made some new memories together. How lucky are we?
If you can, take the time to reach out to friends old or new. Let them know you’d like to spend some time together and see if you can make it happen. You won’t regret it.
