Hey Everybody,
Sorry to inform you but the Stand-Up Monarchs has officially closed their room. Many great memories were made in this club. Every week, we would hit the streets and promote the club as much as possible and experiencing some of the best rejection stories. Whether the audience had 60 people or that one loyal member at every event, our open mic was always a high-quality show with a full lineup rain, sleet, or snow. Since initiation, the club grew from 3 members to 20 by our 2nd year of production. It became so successful to the point where members were being hired to perform at talent shows, awareness events, and guest spots for the homecoming comedy show. When Jon Small and I first started the club we just wanted an open mic for Friday's and expected it to have a 2 year life span at the most and both proud to see it reach 5 years of production. The Stand-Up Monarchs Comedy Club hit a height we couldn't see at the beginning but every great producer and business man knows when it's time to pull the plug. If you would like to keep up with members and their individual ventures through comedy and other forms of entertainment DM us and we'll send you a list. It was a pleasure spreading more awareness of live entertainment at Old Dominion University! Thank you for all of your support!
