The Celtic Bar Association is proud to announce a very special event on Tuesday, December 16 at 7PM at The Chance Theater in Anaheim Hills with Irish food and drink and the world premiere performance of "A Celtic Holiday with Craic in the Stone".

If you recall, our past president and one of the original founders of the Celtic Bar Association, Scott Well is part of the Celtic folk/rock band "Craic in the Stone." This holiday show is part concert, part story about the Celtic holiday traditions and legends blended with original and traditional songs that tell a heartwarming holiday story.

$40 buys a ticket and pre-show Irish food. Irish alcohol is extra, but you can bring your Guinness into the theater! This private performance is one night only for Celtic Bar members, family, and friends. So come out for a special December meeting and enjoy fine Irish food and drink before the show and be part of the Celtic Clans as you share this intimate musical journey.

Space is limited, so please make your reservations early by emailing [email protected]. For more information about the show or the theater, go to http://celticbarassociation.org/events/2014/CBA-2014-Celtic-Holiday.html. Happy Celtic Holidays!

Today we celebrate the Patron Saint of Ireland. Here is some information that not everyone knows about St. Patrick’s Day. The reason we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17 is because that is the day that St. Patrick died back in 461 A.D. The green attire adorned for St. Patrick’s Day comes from the green landscape in Ireland and also from the Shamrock. Legend has it that St. Patrick used the Shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the people of Ireland. The tradition of the day is to wear a Shamrock, and then at the end of the day the Shamrock should be put into the final glass of grog. Once that grog is finished, the Shamrock is taken out of the glass and thrown over the left should to complete the tradition. The first parade was held in New York in 1762 when Irish soldiers walked to a tavern to celebrate the life of St. Patrick.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone!
