We owned this beautiful wine bar for 4 years. All my life, we went to lounges and food restaurants, and owners and managers would come to tables of people they knew were regulars or well-known in the community, but that would be the only tables they would greet. When we opened, we said that if we came out and greeted one table, we wanted to speak to every table, to make every table feel at home and special. People often said, 'Your prices are too cheap,' but we wanted a place that everyone could afford, where if you wanted to come and experience a wine bar, you could. You could come in fancy clothes or overalls and feel like you were at home. Every day, we run into people who came into the bar, and as much as we would love to tell you we can remember everyone, our 60+ year-old brains only retain so much 😉😂. But people will say, 'Hey, you were the people who owned The Wine Down?' So, we hope that means that for 4 years, we made a lasting impact on our patrons, or as we like to call you, our Wine Down family (don't feel bad, we have large families in real life that we forget names of too 😂😂😂). I hope you guys know that even though we don't miss the hustle and craziness of the business, we do miss the people, all of you. So, with that, I just wanted to say we appreciate all of you. We still get new followers every week, (and we have been closed now for as long as we were open) but I still post good local places to eat, where all the local bands that played at the bar are playing, and every once in a while…something like this to let you guys know, you guys were the best.

What a lot of people didn’t realize is the beautiful Italian leather couches, the drum tables and the custom built Amish table and podium was all bought thru our family and friend Kim L Ross at Kim's. She not only has consigned furniture and items, she can order so many things thru so many vendors that it will blow you away. That can also be overwhelming, but Kim is always there to help. If you’re looking for new or even vintage things, Don’t forget to check it out.

If you haven’t been by Sazón y Fuego I highly recommend you check it out along with the new menu. Located in our old home, its interior is elegant and the changes are beautiful. Did you know they have $5 dollar lime Margaritas on Tuesdays, and Half off on select glasses of wine on Wednesday. So I guess we can call it Tequila Tuesdays and “Wine Down Wednesdays” 🤣🤣🤣. If you haven’t checked it out, take some time and go by, you won’t be disappointed.

Hey guys, we hope you haven’t been snowed in too long. Just remember to support local when you get back out. Because you being snowed in means less business for local places. We would have never made it through Covid and the rest of the time we did without your local support. Be safe out there and if you see us out, dont forget to say hey 👋 ♥️

Some of our favorites are:
Pangea Kitchen, and a place close to our heart Sazón y Fuego (in our old home) or really any of Randy’s Places are a good choice.
Spankey's Una Cafe is delicious and the stroms are one of my new faves. Check out their site to watch what makes the products premium.
House of Como is never disappointing, and one of the best steaks anywhere.
And if you loved Dileggi’s but wanna also some new things as well as some great specials then don’t forget about
Jacobs Pub.
For quick but very authentic Mexican food, La Campirana is amazing. And close to home for a great tex mex and margarita Jalisco
There are many more, but this is just a few of our favorites.
