I want to thank everyone who came out last night to Drumm’s Family Billiards for its final pool tournament. Even with a Level 2 snowstorm, we still had 69 players show up and compete for $4,300 in the 10-ball pot and $3,235 in tournament payouts—an incredible turnout.
Tracvon won the winners bracket, and Gary (don’t have a picture) came back and double-dipped to take first place. It was a tough match all around.
Third place: Zac
Fourth place: Rob
Fifth–Sixth: Phil M and Dave V
Seventh–Eighth: Travis and Jeff
Top Female: Alexis
Top Junior: Tanner
The $4,300 pot was hit by multiple players:
• Ryan Hannah made $430 (1 ball)
• Chris Poland broke dry
• Dave Perry did not make a ball
• Ray Griffith made $2,150 (4 balls on the break)
• John Ash broke dry
• Tracvon Miles broke dry
• Willie Lockhart made $1,290 (3 balls)
• Ray Griffith was drawn again and made $430, sinking the final ball
Thank you all for supporting Ernie—whether by playing in tournaments, benefits, ring games, or simply coming in to hang out with friends.
Ernie has played pool for many decades and has owned multiple pool halls throughout Newark, Ohio. Over the years, he has hosted countless team, doubles, Jack & Jill, and singles tournaments, as well as many benefit events for those who were sick, had passed away, or were in financial need. He also provided a safe and welcoming place for our Junior League, supporting them in every way possible.
It’s truly sad to see this era come to an end. For many, Drumm’s was more than a pool hall—it was a place to gather, relax, and see friends on a daily basis. I heard so many people last night say, “What am I going to do now?”
While this chapter is ending, we hope everyone stays in touch—with each other and with Ernie. You are all amazing players, friends, and for many, like family. Ernie deeply appreciates every one of you, especially those who came in regularly just to chat, hang out, shoot balls, and be there.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas ❤️
