Donleavy, began its journey in 1985 in an old house in Houston, Texas. This original creation, believed by many to be the first multi-tap bar in America, was hailed by the late British beer guru, Michael Jackson, as one of the finest beer bars in the world. It was to be followed by The Ginger Man bars in Dallas and Austin and, in 1996, what was to become one of New York’s most popular bars, year a

fter year, opened on a grand scale. While its many loyal fans say that it’s more than the sum of its parts, the parts, especially the seventy taps dispensing fresh ales and lagers, backed up by 160 bottles, are pretty impressive. Join us for a beer!

Greetings from The Ginger Man,

We are releasing a special menu of rare and vintage beers this Saturday, 10-24-20 at our Under the Volcano - 12 E 36TH, from 3pm to 10pm. Try the tacos and some mezcal while you're there, and trust we will be upholding all public safety guidelines.

Not into in-person drinking yet? Place an order outside for takeaway, and please bring your own bag for the planet's sake.

In an incredibly difficult and unprecedented decision we have resolved to immediately suspend service at The Ginger Man NYC for the remainder of the month of March. We feel it is the only responsible course of action in the face of the very real threat of the COVID-19 situation that is upon us.

Keep an eye here for updates, in the event that we can open sooner!
