Our founding Ted (his proper name was Theodoulos) arrived in NYC from Cyprus circa 1930 and opened a successful restaurant in Times Square with his brothers. We honor him with the nearly 30 other Teds from around the world that grace our walls. From a turn of the 20th century president, to an iconic TV character from the late 1950’s and a top 40s R&B crooner from the 1970’s - This one's for Ted.

TED’S was inspired by the story of a man named Ted, who came to New York from Cyprus in the 1930s and built his life in the city through hospitality. Today, his spirit lives on here, on the walls filled with famous Teds, behind the bar, and in every night shared over good drinks.
