What’s ahead, and what’s been….
If you don’t get (or don’t open!) the emails, you may’ve missed my message earlier this afternoon, so I’m posting it here too.

I’m writing to share that as of April 1st, my role as Executive Director of the NYC Brewers Guild is coming to a close. After six and a half years in this position, the Guild’s funding has reached a point where a paid directorship is no longer sustainable. This isn’t coming as a surprise to me or the Board. We’ve seen it coming for quite some time and have been stretching every dollar to keep this role going as long as possible. The Board and our Guild will now be transitioning back to a fully volunteer-led structure and working more closely with (and leaning on) the New York State Brewers Association to ensure our community continues to have the full support and representation needed.
I want to be straightforward about that, because this community has always deserved transparency. And I also want to use this moment to say what I can never truly say enough; thank you!
When I stepped into this role in 2019, none of us could have predicted what was coming. Within months, we were navigating a pandemic that threatened to shut down every aspect of our industry - from taprooms, to brewhouses, and every small business dream in the five boroughs. What I saw from all of you during that time is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career. You kept going. You adapted, quickly. You looked out for each other. My job was to make sure you had the information, the government guidance and contacts, and the advocacy you needed in real time, and I dedicated all I could to do that. But the resilience was yours….
