From the owners of Ninth Ward & Shoolbred’s, Kingston Hall resembles the inside of a Caribbean mansion from 1890, which was later taken over by the Jet Set crowd in the ‘60s. Customers can look down to the Second Avenue sidewalk action, just north of St. Sexy bartenders sling cold Red Stripe & potent frozen concoctions from the vast bar & occasionally need to asc

end a tall ladder to reach your favorite spirit. The more expensive your libation, the higher the bartender needs to climb; and those skirts are oh so short! There are several nooks filled with books & drug lab paraphernalia, such as antique scales used to weigh bundles of Jamaica’s leading export. As you make your way through the main hall, you enter the beautiful Billiard Room, complete with a wood burning fireplace and stained glass window, centered on an antique leather pocketed pool table & New York’s only personal billiard attendant. Two imposing marble lions protect the private party tables in the back room. With its high trusseted ceilings, you are immediately transported to Ian Fleming’s private dining room in Port Antonio where you’d expect to see James Bond himself philandering with the wait staff. Ceiling fans turn at a seductively slow pace & the dub reggae/ska combination of tunes gives this hideaway both old world charm & new world bravado. Albeit the food is traditional, the drinks & cliental are all very new generation.
