Jersey City needs a venue where you can experience live music, get a cheap beer or a craft cocktail, a bite to snack on, and an area to smoke in. If one exists, let me know. If not, I'm ready to make it happen. I need somewhere to go that makes sense.

Guys I am truly SORRY to announce that RUUMY'S TAVERN will NO LONGER Host music/live performance. I will post a detailed explanation later but needed to post this now. I would have posted sooner but this decision was made an hour ago. My deepest appreciation for you support and my sincerest apologies to all ho have invested time. Those who know me can say that I pay as promised but there has been an issue with the venue in that regard and unless it is contractually resolved, I will not move further. The musicians are my friends it is my priority to protect them.

This week at Jazz at Ruumy's we are happy to have back the great pianist Ehud Asherie starting our Valentine's special evening. We are honored to have legendary bass player Tyler Mitchell, a master of traditional and avant-guard jazz, and look forward to his set with a guest musician. And chanteuse Marianne Solivan brings the passion and joy to our special Valentine's music evening.
Also this week, Jon Weiss Solo Piano on Thursday followed by the inimitable pianist Johnny O'Neal with his unique blend of blues and neo-bop jazz repertoire. And the great Kelly Green Trio opening the jam session.
On Friday trumpeter Bruce Harris, a rising star in the New York jazz scene, performs with a guest; following is bassist John Webber, this time on guitar, accompanied of a guest.
On Saturday, Tyler Mitchell & guest open the evening followed by composer and guitar extraordinaire Saul Zebulon Rubin performing with his Trio.
And the Love goes on. Look forward to see you all!!

TONIGHT!!! The incredible piano virtuoso Davis Whitfield celebrating his birthday today with us from 5-6pm. Followed by the duet of veterans, saxophonist Eric Wyatt and piano Benito Gonzalez, 6.30pm to 8.30pm; and Bruce Harris on the trumpet with guest, from 9 to 11pm.
Come celebrate with us, have a drink or two and try our delicious small plates.
