Lucciola

Lucciola Lucciola: The Upper West Side’s luxury Italian restaurant for fine dining, events & wine pairings. a city of dreams brought to life here in New York City.

-OUR STORY-
Lucciola, locate down the street from Central Park, where the most fireflies can be found in the city: an homage to Bologna, its cuisine, its cinematic history.. The dishes, the atmosphere and the overall concept of Lucciola, specifically talked inspiration from the film Fest di Laurea, directed by Pupi Avati. We portray Avati's nostalgic and romantic mood of Bologna in our restaurant.

From the decoration within the film we were struck by how simple lights, illuminating a courtyard reminded us of fireflies, which brought to our name, Lucciola. Our restaurant is dedicated to the lead actor in Avati's film: Nik Novecento, who embodied the values of Bologna from his passion, soul, courageousness and kindness. Values that at Lucciola value. Novecento died at a young age and to commemorate his memory we created a place in New York where he could have come and spent time with us. Just as you are now.

The Giusti Experience is a tasting journey, served with intention.

At Lucciola, ingredient quality is a system.

We filter everything through three simple criteria.
Seasonality, so a dish makes sense right now.
Consistency, so the experience stays reliable every night.
Origin, so what arrives in the kitchen has a story we trust.

That’s where the work begins.
Long before a plate reaches the table.

Yesterday afternoon, we received “Three Forks” (Tre Forchette) from Gambero Rosso.

We want to thank every guest who has supported us, appreciated what we do, and continues to trust us. Your evenings with us are why we keep refining every detail.

And today, on Employee Appreciation Day, this matters most: this recognition belongs to our team.
The hands in the kitchen, the care in the dining room, the quiet precision behind the cellar, and the people behind the scenes who make it all possible.

Thank you to all of you!

At our latest Lucciola Wine Club dinner in NYC, we devoted the entire evening to aged white wines with Cantina Terlano.

Just a few tables.
A full vertical lineup.
A menu built to move in step with the wines.

From alpine precision to depth and evolution, the story unfolded course by course — including a nearly 20-year-old Pinot Bianco Rarity that challenged every assumption about white wine.

Choosing to build an entire Manhattan wine dinner around white wines is intentional. It demands focus. It rewards curiosity.

And then there are the moments you cannot plan — like Giusti’s 100-year-old balsamic tasted tableside, followed by vermouth. Time, in its purest form.

This is what the Lucciola Wine Club is for.

Not just access to rare bottles — but access to producers, dialogue, and evenings designed for people who want to understand wine, not just drink it.

If you’re looking for exclusive Italian wine dinners in New York, this is where they happen.

We’ve written a full recap of the evening on our website — including the wines poured and why Alto Adige whites can age for decades.

The Giusti Experience at Lucciola.

NYC’s first tasting menu entirely dedicated to Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, a cultural and sensory journey created with Acetaia Giusti.

Just six seats, six courses, and a guided pairing of Giusti balsamics aged from 8 to over 100 years.

A dedicated corner of the restaurant recreates the atmosphere of a Modenese acetaia, with casks, materials, and details inspired by Giusti’s ageing rooms.

It means a method built around you.

Before anything reaches the table, we listen to your preferences and the intensity you’re in the mood for.

The plate is a tool, but also a background.

Shape, color, and proportion influence how food is read and tasted.

We design the dish on the plate to guide the eye, slow the experience, and let each element be part of the same story.
