A throwback to the traditions that made this city great, our custom designed décor reflects the pride and passion we feel for our community. From the ceiling to the floor, all the way to the bathroom walls covered in antique newspaper clippings and subway tiles, we guarantee stepping through the front door is like stepping through a time machine. Our love of an era that is gone but not forgotten c

Big shoutout to one of our favorite regulars . He has been working tirelessly as a member of the MTA to continue to provide travel for other essential workers just like himself. In his more natural habitat (OMH) he can be found sipping an Artisan Prairie Bomb out of his mug, snacking on some poutine and providing the staff with the oddest movie reviews ever (seriously, watch his insta stories if you don’t believe me). When it comes to being a fantastic human this Capricorn really is the GOAT!

Thanks so much Jaye!

Happy National Server day to all wait staff during this time but particularly our super talented, friendly, (and as this photo depicts) somewhat dangerous server Kristin “KD” Devine. Like all of us she is very excited to get back to work and see you all again. You’re the best KD!!

We have the best regulars ever. Thanks for keeping us safe! 🙏🏻

“Kevin,
Hope you are staying healthy & safe, here’s a mask to keep you safe. For extra protection one side of the mask is open so you can insert a filter (sent some so you can find some comparable). Coffee filters & paper towels work as well! To sanitize you can bake at 250 degrees for one hour to kill germs.
Please send me a selfie of you in the mask, please!
❤️ Mon”

Happy World Cocktail Day! World Cocktail Day (or for us veterans WCD for short) is a global celebration of cocktails and it marks the publication date of the first definition of a cocktail on May 13 in 1806.
A New York tabloid called “The Balance and Colombian Repository” responded to a reader’s question as to what a cocktail is exactly.
The response was “a stimulating liquor (😉), composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters…”
Can’t wait to see you all back so we can mix up some stimulating cocktails!

The Purple Stride and PanCAN families are near and dear to our hearts. Last year we were the highest-grossing fundraising team in NYC. This year we come back together as a virtual family to continue to raise funds and awareness in support of Purple Stride and their amazing efforts.

Although our annual walk is postponed, in the interest of continuing our spirited PurpleStride celebration, and in memory of our dear friend and partner Mark Whelan we invite you to join us for the first-ever Virtual PurpleStride New York City today, April 25, 2020.

Here are some pics from years gone by.

Thanks to all the healthcare workers on the frontline from all the staff at One Mile House. All of us owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Pictured on the left are Nora Gibbons (Auntie Nora) and Anne Ryan (better known as mom) who are currently working hard at St James’s Hospital in Dublin. On the Right is Ashley Ryan (mostly goes by sis) on the frontline at the Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester, England. Thanks for the hard work and dedication fam, and thank you to all healthcare workers around the world for your hard work during this difficult time. All the staff here look forward to serving/gratuitously over-serving you all when normalcy returns.

Happy National Beer Day! As this beer from indicates, it’s important to stay Light Hearted in these times (and no one embodies being light hearted more than Ciarán ). Don’t forget to celebrate today by having a cold one. You’ll be back and seeing us sooner than you think!

Thanks so much to .boil and all the other bars and restaurants who donated plastic gloves (and put up with me pestering them) to help all the medical and health professionals on the frontline during this time. A special thanks to the Wilkins Warriors (2 of 3 pictured) who organized and the executed this glove hunt. They arrived on avenues, braved boroughs, and stepped on streets to gather as many gloves as they could and their dedication throughout has been nothing short of phenomenal. I’d say I’m proud to call you my friends but you are still from Cork.

A commonly felt sentiment is that this is not the St. Patrick’s Day any of us would have imagined. However, let us remember that while life may have given us lemons today, soon we shall slice said lemons into wedges and put them in our whiskey gingers!

On that hopeful note we would love to hear your best St Patrick’s Day memory. Perhaps this would have been a conversation we would have had with you today in the bar. So, in spite of our very temporary hiatus we urge you to share them with us here for a bit of “socially distant togetherness.” While we may feel we are not rich in luck recently, we certainly remain rich in friends!

To our friends and family,
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Have a drink with us today in spirit and in turn we shall have three for you!

See You Soon,
One Mile House

Paddy Losty is regarded as one of the ultimate “pintsmen” of all time. Reportedly putting away 30 pints or more in one sitting wasn’t an infrequent occurrence for this prince of the porter. He has garnered a folk-hero like following in recent years after his picture was discovered in “Dublin Pub Life and Lore” by Kevin Kearns. His serious demeanor and rye smile convey he both enjoys the pint, but it’s serious business. He is often depicted in some truly great memes (we’ve included a few). Kick off St Patrick’s Day weekend with us and enjoy a delicious pint of Guinness or our own tribute to this great man “The Paddy Losty” - an Irish Old Fashioned made with Teeling Small Batch. Happy St. Patrick’s weekend to you all and thank you as always for your continued support. @ One Mile House NYC
