In 2002 Manhattan Reefs (http://manhattanreefs.com) started as a humble discussion forum and very quickly grew to become the largest community of Reef keepers in New York City and one of the largest in the New York Tri-State area. Manhattan Reefs hosts some of the best events in New York with excellent guest speakers, swap meets and a tight knit community that has come together for fun or to support each other through some of the worst disasters to affect reef keepers in New York. We can boast of having some of the most advanced aquarists while also being inviting to new hobbyists.

Santa Monica Filtration has just announced the release of their new DROP2.6 Drop-In Scrubber with Green Grabber® surfaces and replaceable GEM5® lights. This is an aquarium filter that offers drop-in installation in small spaces, along with reduction or elimination of water changes and nuisance algae. And it's small enough to drop into the back compartment of larger all-in-one aquariums.
