The Vale Public House tells the story of a Scottish expat who came to New York and spent his time as a bartender, entertaining and serving customers on the Upper East Side of Manhattan for the last 20 years, meeting his partner, who’s entire family hails from Kearny New Jersey, a notoriously Scottish neighborhood outside

of Newark New Jersey, ten years ago. Forming a friendship, the two bring their story to their neighborhood.

Robert Burns once drank in a Glasgow pub that's still open to this day.

Burns visited Gallowgate's Saracen Head—or the 'Sarry Heid', as it's best known—several times between 1788 and 1791.

The National Bard is thought to have enjoyed a Tennent's Ale or two, given the fact that Robert Tennent, one of the brothers who founded the company, was one of the original proprietors of the pub when it opened.
