At Hispanics in Wine & Spirits, we are heartbroken and enraged by the current events devastating our communities in Los Angeles and across the nation. Families are being torn apart. Fear is flooding our neighborhoods. And still, our gente show up with courage, faith, and grace.
We cannot look away.
We cannot stay silent.
Our people are not disposable.
They are mothers, fathers, daughters, sons.
They are dreamers, caretakers, survivors, and storytellers.
They are human beings — full of love, full of dignity, full of the right to live freely and peacefully.
And yes — immigrants are the heartbeat of this nation.
Especially in the hospitality and beverage industry, where our communities plant, cook, pour, serve, and lead. But their worth is not in their labor — it is in their humanity.
This moment calls for more than words. It calls for compassion, solidarity, and action.
That’s why we’re launching a fundraising campaign to support grassroots organizations providing legal aid, shelter, emotional support, and rapid response to those being directly impacted.
We have identified some incredible organizations doing the work in LA and the Central Coast , but as things change quickly and spread across the nation, please send us any local organizations in your community that need support and we will add them to our fundraising efforts.
This is a call to our industry, our allies, our gente:
Immigrants built this country. They deserve to feel safe in it.
Whether you’re in the vineyard, the tasting room, the kitchen, the boardroom — or simply someone who believes in justice — you can do something.
