We've got a new chef. Come eat with us.

Hey all,

We've got a new face at the market, and he's been making me breakfast every morning. Chef Charles Wilford opened Chef Charles Bistreaux (https://www.strochmarket.com/vendors/chef-charles-bistreaux) right next door to CR Coffee Shop (https://crcoffeenola.com/) , serving breakfast and lunch daily starting at 7:30 a.m.

Chef Charles grew up in Baton Rouge, served in the Navy, and spent time in a Naples kitchen in the '80s learning to make tomato sauce from scratch. That sauce is now the base of his vegetarian omelette here at the market, and it's one of the best things I've eaten all month. The Eye Opener (eggs, bacon, grits, biscuit) is what I get every morning. Come have one with me.

Meet me at St. Roch,
Kevin

Come on by!

Hey all!

It's been a while, but tonight Andrew's back pouring three wines tonight from 5 to 7. They're from Spain, Italy, and the Pacific Northwest, three completely different tastes back to back. This should be an interesting one.

We're starting in Rioja with the Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza 2019, about as old-school traditional as Spanish red gets these days. It's cherry, to***co, cigar box, that classic American oak lift.

Then crossing into Italy with the Terre Porziane Frascati Superiore 2024, made on a 2,000-year-old Roman estate from Malvasia Puntinata, the ancient native grape that nearly disappeared. peach skin, white flowers, a salty mineral cut. It's a really interesting white wine. This is one to try.

Closing with the Ouest White 2025 from Division Winemaking, a wild-ferment Pacific Northwest blend made by Loire-trained winemakers. Stone fruit, citrus, savory edge, closer to a French white than anything domestic you've had recently.

Every bottle in the building is 10% off during the tasting as always. See you at 5.

Jack Daniel's like you've never had it before

Hey all!

So we're doing something at Roch's Reprieve I've never done before. We're hosting a seven-pour vertical of Jack Daniel's, with a Brown-Forman whiskey specialist walking us through giving us context and history. They're all from the same distillery, same water, same charcoal mellowing on all seven. What changes is time, proof, grain, and the barrel. This is their rare stuff all opened together.

Here's what we're pouring:
1. Old No. 7 — 80 proof. The benchmark. Where every conversation about Jack starts.

2. Bonded — 100 proof. Same recipe, more proof, hand-selected barrels. First reveal of what's hiding underneath.

3. 10 Year Batch 5 — 97 proof. The youngest of the 2026 Aged Series.

4. 12 Year Batch 4 — 107 proof. Two more years, ten more proof points.

5. 14 Year Batch 2 — 117.6 proof. Barrel strength. Oldest age-stated Jack since the 1900s, and the best-reviewed Jack of the year by most accounts.

6. Heritage Barrel — 100 proof. Single barrel, heavily toasted, lightly charred. A different take on the same Tennessee whiskey — built around the wood instead of the years.

7. Tanyard Hill Rye Special Release — 139.6 proof. Barrel-strength rye, aged a decade on the top floor of one of the oldest barrelhouses on the Jack Daniel grounds. Different mash bill, different rickhouse, different beast. We're closing with this one for a reason.

What you get:
— All seven 1oz pours
— A Brown-Forman specialist guiding you through every taste and answering questions
— A Jack Daniel's branded Glencairn to taste from and take home

$125 a seat. 20 seats total. When they're gone, they're gone. We're not adding chairs. We don't have the juice!!

A few things to know: this is a serious flight. Seven pours, several at barrel proof. We'll pace it, but plan your ride home before you show up. Tickets are transferable, not refundable. If you can't make it, send a friend in your place and shoot us an email at least 24 hours out so we know who to expect. 21+ with valid ID, no exceptions.

Roch's Reprieve is the bar inside St. Roch Market.

Come hungry! The market's vendors are open before and after the tasting.

Grab a seat below.

Wine Thursday!

Hey all,

Tonight's wine tasting features two exciting new wines that perfectly illustrate how climate shapes wine. Will be a fun two to try next to each other.

First, Maddalena 2025 Rosé, a Paso Robles beauty made by Riboli Family Wines. This is their Provençal-style rosé with summer fruit flavors of strawberry and melon. It's a great example of how California's warm climate can produce something that feels like the south of France.

Then we'll dive into something cool and different. Greenwing 2024 Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley. This is Duckhorn's new Oregon project, and it's all about bright red fruit and crisp acidity. It's a perfect contrast to the California rosé. We've been pouring this wine as our pinot by the glass daily. If you want to try it, tonight's a good night to take a sip.

Grab a bite to eat, and some friends. All bottles of wine are 10% off during the tastings 5-7pm Every Thursday.

We're doing Sake for our "wine tasting" tonight

Hey all,

It's Thursday again and you know what that means... This evening Hannah's back with another awesome sake tasting tonight, at Roch's Reprieve.

Last time we did this it was super popular (I think people are finally getting over their hot sake hangups) I want cold sake, especially for summer coming. So we're stepping up the offerings a bit this time, with three different premium TYKU sakes from Umenoyado Brewery in Nara Prefecture, Japan.

The lineup tonight includes:

TYKU White Junmai: This is their flagship "pure rice" sake, made with Akebono rice polished down to 70%. It's got pear and soft floral notes, plus a clean honeyed sweetness.

TYKU Red Flower Tokubetsu Junma: Super unique blend of sake rices and ultra-purified water. It's smooth, slightly sweet with a hint of spice.

TYKU Black Junmai Ginjo: Top tier stuff here. Made with a blend of Yamada Nishiki and Akebono rice polished to 55%. Peach, vanilla, subtle spice, it's nice.

Grab a bottle and some Sushi from Lin's!

And remember - during our "wine tastings" every Thursday nightfrom 5-7pm, all bottles of wine are 10% off!

Wine tasting Thursday, 5-7pm — Greece, Oregon, Italy

Hey all,
Thursday 5-7pm we've got a fresh lineup with Wesley from Vino Volo. And as it is every Thursday evening for our tastings, all bottles are 10% off.

First up, the Gaia "Monograph" Moschofilero from Greece. Greek wine isn't on everyone's radar, so it's something to try for sure! This grape grows high up in the Arcadian plateaus of the Peloponnese. It's light and easy, with citrus, peach, and apple. Perfect with oysters or any seafood.

Next, the Anne Amie Rosé from Oregon's Willamette Valley. Not your typical beach-side rosé. this is seriously well put together stuff. Strawberries and rose petals with a crisp finish.

And if you've ever wondered about Italian Sauvignon Blanc, here's your chance. The Atla from Veneto is light on its feet but full of flavor with green apple and citrus. It's got that clean easy-going style you expect from Italian whites. Summer day in Italy without the jet lag.

Come on down after the fest, bring friends, make new ones, and grab a bottle, and let Wesley walk you through them.
