Today's Happy Hour Concert Series features an exciting collaboration between saxophonist Alejandro Canales and pianist Victor Campbell!

Alejandro Canales has built an impressive international career performing jazz, Latin, funk, and contemporary music around the world. A versatile multi-instrumentalist on saxophone, flute, and clarinet, he has shared stages with artists and ensembles ranging from Trombone Shorty and the Treme Brass Band to the Reno Jazz Orchestra, bringing a wealth of experience and creativity to every performance.
Joining him is Cuban-born pianist and composer Victor Campbell, one of the most electrifying young musicians on the New Orleans scene. Trained at Cuba's prestigious National School of the Arts, Campbell seamlessly blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, New Orleans jazz, classical music, and modern improvisation into a style that is both virtuosic and deeply soulful. Legendary pianist Chucho Valdés once predicted that Campbell would "revolutionize Cuban jazz piano."

Jason Marsalis is the youngest son of piano patriarch and jazz luminary Ellis Marsalis Jr. Upon the presentation of their NEA Jazz Masters Award in 2011, The Marsalis' were declared "America's First Family of Jazz". In addition to his renown as a drummer, Jason is also a respected vibraphonist whose 2018 release "Melody Reimagined '' with his 21st Century Trad Band rose swiftly to the top of the Billboard jazz chart. With a fire in his heart and a passion for the music, his will to swing has never been more resolute. The maturity and the command Jason possesses over his music is clearly evident to those who have heard or seen him.

Tonight, Jason presents the song book of his father, the late, great Ellis Marsalis and is joined by Jazz vocalist Christien Bold. This performance features:

Honduran-born pianist Oscar Rossignoli folds many traditions into his music, from his classical music formation to his passion for Latin and North American jazz. He’s currently based in New Orleans and works with some of the city’s best jazz musicians, including John Boutté, Jason Marsalis, Gladney, Amina Scott, Yusa and more. He has also established his reputation in various bands, including the EXTENDED trio with Matt Booth and Brad Webb, and by leading his own quartet and trio. Oscar earned a Master's degree at the University of New Orleans, where he was named the 2015–2016 ASCAP Louis Armstrong Scholar and was a finalist in the 2018 Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition.

Chris Vincent is an award winning singer/songwriter and slide guitarist based out of the city he often refers to as his muse, New Orleans, Louisiana. With deep roots originating in Delta blues guitar, Vincent's instantly recognizable solo slide guitar style draws from elements including, big band jazz, bebop, early electric blues and Western swing to deliver songs that delve deep into the universal complexities of love, loss, redemption, resilience and the human spirit. This honest approach to his songwriting has not gone unnoticed as Chris’s music has successfully been featured on film, TV and radio stations all over the world.
