It’s been forever and a month of Sundays since we’ve had it. You all keep asking if we have it. Finally! Spätzle is back this weekend! And we think it’s better than it’s ever been. Served with a traditional Swabian meal of Pork Tenderloin Medaillons in a Mushroom Cream Sauce (Schweinsmedaillons mit Schwammerlsoße). An excellent meal to pair with our freshly filtered and tapped Export Hell. Perfect for those warm, late Spring days.

On Thursdays at Gunpowder Falls Brewing, we might be known for our killer Thighs and Fries with a Bier menu special ($13.97), but we also serve up a solid Hamburger with Fries and a Bier, too, for just $15.97. Try getting fries included with your burger at most places without an “extra” or an “upcharge” these days. Like when did this ridiculousness start?? Fries with a burger is about as American as it gets. No fries with your burger? That’s like communism. At Gunpowder Falls Brewing, we might focus on German style Lager Bier and food, but we’re still 100% American.

A special guest chef this weekend at Gunpowder Falls Brewing . Her name is Angela Robinson. Angela was born and briefly raised in Italy before her family came to the United States. Angela also has her own private chef and catering company, Carabella's Catering , based in York. We really like Angela and are fortunate to have had her help us in our kitchen. Because she has been so good to us, we’d like to help her out. This weekend Angela has chosen the special to help show the community not only what she can do as a chef but where her real food passion lies. She has decided that Chicken Saltimbocca with Risotto topped with a Spinach and Tomato Saute would be a scrumptious, traditional Italian dish that isn’t found on many menus.

Saltimbocca is a classic Italian dish, meaning "jumps in the mouth," featuring thin slices of veal or chicken topped with prosciutto and sage, pan-fried, and served with a white wine sauce. The name reflects its rich, savory flavor, and it's a popular Roman dish. The original version of this dish is Saltimbocca alla Romana (literally ”Roman-style saltimbocca”), which consists of veal, prosciutto and sage, rolled up and cooked in dry white wine and butter.

Coincidentally, one of the best Biers that pairs exceptionally well with Saltimbocca is an Export Hell. With its smooth, malty, and subtly hopped character, an Export Hell wonderfully complements the chicken with sage and prosciutto. Furthermore, the Bier's carbonation and delicate bitterness cleanse the palate, creating a fantastic flavor contrast to the intense aromas of the prosciutto. As luck would have it. We just filtered a tank of Export Hell this week, which is fresh on tap for your enjoyment.

The Gunpowder Falls Brewing Maibock hits all of the essential Maibock characteristics in stride this year. The Original Gravity was 16.09°Plato. The alcohol is a nice 6.8% ABV. This Bier is super smooth. So smooth it might be dangerous. It definitely will sneak up on you before you know it…and trust us, we know it.

There’s a long list and rich history for legendary burger places in this country. While Gunpowder Falls Brewing isn’t legendary (yet), we do offer a superb Burger made with top quality, locally raised beef that comes with hand cut Fries and one of the freshest, super premium, German style Lager Biers on Thursday nights for just $16.97.
