The viaduct is open! No need to take the long away around to get to Big Pauly’s for tonight’s specials:

The bridge is back — The Mahoning Avenue Viaduct is scheduled to reopen today.

According to PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan, the span that carries Route 108 over the Shenango River between Moravia Street and Route 18, was expected to open around 3 p.m.

The span has been closed for repair work since February. Cowan said PennDOT plans to close the bridge again briefly in the spring for some finishing work.
