If you miss Separation Day this weekend the courthouse will still be offering tours on our official Separation day on Monday June 15th. We will be open from 12-6pm if you need a lil bite and a cocktail to celebrate!
Join us for the 250th anniversary of Separation Day on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the place where it happened!
NOTE: These programs are separate from the Separation Day festival and parade on Saturday, June 13 (though we will also be open that day).
π£οΈ GUIDED TOURS - To explore the building, you must join a FREE guided tour at one of the scheduled times: 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm. There are NO self-guided tours.
π§ CIVICS AND CRYPTIDS - Any time between 10 am and 4 pm, visit the east wing welcome area to learn about the civics of creating a state symbol and explore the history of the Zwaanendael Museum's merman as we work to get him promoted from beloved museum artifact to official Delaware state cryptid.
π DECLARATION PROGRAM - At 7 pm, one of our interpreters will present Coming of Age: Grievances of the Declaration of Independence, a guided exploration of the Declaration of Independence using more modern language.
