Although we are permanently closed, it doesn’t mean we can’t take the best parts of Gran Electrica Napa and create something even more extraordinary to makes us all feel good! If you know us, you know we love to party - it’s what we do best and what we enjoy most. Now that our doors are closed we’re officially on the hunt for Salty Sunday pop-up locations in or near Napa. We’re looking for venues and folks to partner with who share a similar Salty Sunday spirit ~ details include…

* One Sunday a month from 3pm-9pm (reoccurring location or a new location every month)
* Beautiful outdoor setting
* First Salty Sunday, June 12
* Located in or near Napa
* Option to serve Gran Electrica margaritas (canned or BTG)
* DJs & Dancing - amplified electronic / melodic deep house music
* Option to post & promote on all social platforms
* Approximate headcount 150

To our Napa community,
It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Gran Eléctrica Napa 💔
During our recent winter break, we took some much needed time to visit family overseas and to contemplate our future. We know there have been many questions about our plans, and for a variety of reasons it’s only now that we can make this announcement official.
As we all know, COVID + constant wildfires made these past few years extremely difficult for restaurants in the Napa Valley, but ultimately it was the staffing crisis that made it impossible for us to continue to operate Gran Eléctrica.
Lack of staff has always been a problem in the Valley and although we battled with this pre-COVID, we were surviving. Since the pandemic, labor shortages have become far more challenging & ultimately there simply was not enough talent available to execute our vision. We felt our service and food standards had suffered far too much... which truly broke our hearts and our spirits.
But even through these stressful times, there certainly were many moments of magic. Our goal was to create something truly special here in our hometown and looking at this montage, I’m sure you will agree we did! We built a beautiful space with an energy and vibe like no other in the Valley, we honored the authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine, we drank through the incredible world of agave sprits, and we partied our butts off with epic New Years Eve, Halloween & Salty Sundays events!
Although our time as a restaurant has come to an end, we’re already workshopping ideas that are more sustainable and enjoyable to execute in this current climate. Salty Sunday pop ups anyone?!
HUGE THANK YOU to all our fans. We’ll forever be grateful for your love & support over the years. It was always that sense of appreciation that kept us pushing forward through our darkest hours. Saying goodbye to all of you has been the hardest part of our decision, but we hope the best is yet to come. Stay tuned for details on our final farewell bash.

We’ll be bidding a final farewell to our rockstar GM Kat Weis next week as she prepares to welcome her second child into the world and embark on a new chapter of full-time motherhood! As sad as we are to see Kat leave, we can’t wait to meet her baby girl soon, and are so grateful for the four years she committed to Gran Electrica. It’s been no easy feat here at GE, sticking with us from day ONE through fires, toxic air, a global pandemic, chronic staffing shortages and two pregnancies! Kat, we love you and cannot thank you enough for your hard work & dedication...we couldn’t have survived without you ♥️
Now...go eat some tacos!!

It’s with this development and the ongoing staffing crisis that we’ve decided to take an extensive winter break beginning December 24th. Apart from a much needed mental health break, this time off is intended to give us a chance to rethink our full service approach + menu concept, and how best to staff a busy large restaurant given the current labor shortages. We anticipate this period of closure to last through January 2022...depending entirely on how successful we are at rebuilding our team.
