We want to thank Everyone who came out last night for Cotton Eyed Joes Night III. You are the reason we do it! We had a blast! We also want to thank Southern Blend for putting on an awesome show last night! Great job guys! We also want to that everyone else involved who helped make the event possible. This thing does not get done by itself, so thank you for all being involved. We hope to see you at CEJ Night 4, whenever we choose a date. Thanks. CEJ

Be smart and be safe! Hey guys we want everyone to have a great time Saturday night . Please get a DD lined up if you plan on drinking. We want everyone to get home safely. If you don't have a DD and are too impaired to drive please leave your automobile at the Kaliente club over night. Be smart and don't drive impaired.

CEJ the Story!

The History! Cotton Eyed Joes was started, owned, and ran by Marcus Cruze and his family in the 80s and 90s. The face of the club/manager of CEJ for most of that time was James Hightower. People knew him by his famously money stuffed hatband on his western hats he wore.

I, like a lot of other folks as well, had a great time in this classic East Texas Dancehall. We had a great fellowship, danced the night away, and got to see great local and national bands. The club closed down in the early nineties. It was then re-opened for a short time as Cowgirls Unlimited. It was then purchased by Javier and Maria Rodriguez. They then opened and named the place the Kaliente Club. It still runs as such today.

But I had a vision of dipping back into the past and reliving my youth at Cotton Eyed Joes and going back to that dance hall once again. I talked the Rodriguezs into letting us turn the club into Cotton Eyed joes for a night (and maybe a lot more if this first night goes well). The big reunion/inagrual night will be Saturday, August 18, 2018. We hope to see you all there!
