Things have been a little crazy around Dad's Garage lately, and we realized we never shared photos from our Mount Angel adventure a couple weekends ago.
We headed north with a simple plan: eat good food, drink good beer, drink good wine, and explore somewhere new.
Our first stop was Benedictine Brewery, located on the grounds of the monastery just outside of town. Since choosing just one beer seemed nearly impossible, we ordered flights and worked our way through the menu. The German-style beers were excellent, and the setting was one of the most unique brewery locations we've visited. Unfortunately for all of us, Benedictine doesn't distribute, so we couldn't bring any back to share at Dad's Garage.
After that, we spent some time wandering around Mount Angel and stopping into a few local watering holes. Mount Angel has a strong German heritage, and you can definitely see it throughout town.
One stop we couldn't miss was the Mt. Angel Sausage Company. Bratwurst, German beer, and a giant pretzel with beer cheese were all involved. We also left with chocolate and a few German beers because apparently that's what happens when you tell yourself you're "just stopping for lunch."
We wrapped up the day at Paradis Vineyards. Great wine, beautiful views, and a tasting that somehow resulted in a couple bottles finding their way home with us.
By the end of the day, we'd managed to fit beer, bratwurst, pretzels, wine, chocolate, and more beer into a single trip. I'd call that a successful weekend.
A few photos from our adventure are below. 🍻
