Our Homeschool Show, The Little Mermaid Jr., is quickly approaching! Join us at The Washington Theatre Murfreesboro to support these talented performers. Performances run from September 9th through September 13th.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the box office of Washington Theater day of showing.

Do you love theater but prefer being behind the scenes? Whether you're already interested in theater production or simply want to learn something new, Tech Jr. is a great way to build valuable skills, gain experience, and be part of the Newsies Jr. team!

Students will have the opportunity to serve in one of several areas:
Assistant to Stage Manager
Sound & Lighting
Costume & Makeup
Brand Ambassador

Interviews will take place THIS TUESDAY, August 18 at 7PM.
This program is for ages 15–18.

Auditions for our Christmas show, Newsies Jr., are coming up at The Washington Theater! No matter your experience level, we welcome anyone eager to learn, create, and be part of an unforgettable production!

You only need to attend one audition: Monday, August 10th OR Tuesday, August 11th. There is a mandatory dance audition for all performers on Thursday, August 13.

Audition Tip Tuesday #04: Arrive early and come prepared!

Arriving early gives you time to settle in, warm up, and make a great first impression. Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your audition time. Bring everything you need, including your music, water bottle, and any required forms. Arriving early gives you time to settle your nerves and start your audition feeling calm and ready.

Monologue Monday with Perform Murfreesboro! The strongest performances aren’t about doing what everyone else does—they’re about discovering what only you can bring to the piece.

Today’s Tip: Find something unique and be aware of picking well worn monologues, it can help to differentiate you if you pick something less obvious. While some of the classic monologues in Shakespeare are classics for a reason, it can be risky to take on something that many others in your age range/casting category are also likely to attempt. Think long and hard about what it is that suits you as a person, and whether there’s something out there that can represent you and set you apart.

Love theatre, but have never explored working behind the scenes? The magic of theatre starts long before the curtain rises.

There’s still time to become part of Ariel‘s underwater world! We’re still accepting applications to the Tech Junior Program. Selected students will be mentored by our experienced department heads and gain real-world experience in a variety of areas including lighting, sound, stage management, costume and make-up design and more.

This program is designed to build valuable skills while being a part of a collaborative production team.

One of the biggest audition mistakes is playing it safe. Don’t be afraid to show your personality in the audition room. Directors aren’t looking for perfection—they are looking for performers who make confident, intentional choices. Even if your choice isn’t exactly what they’re looking for, confidence and commitment leave a lasting impression.
