Hey everyone!

We know it’s been quiet for a while, and we appreciate your patience. As we head into the holidays, we wanted to send our love and share a small update.

We’re getting closer to being able to announce an opening date, but it won’t be happening this year. Some projects have taken longer than planned, and we’d rather take the time to do things safely and correctly for our community than rush or settle for ‘good enough.’

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to help! We're so grateful for each of you. As work continues, we’ll be reaching out to more people as additional help is needed.

We seriously miss everyone so much! We’re thinking of you, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back home soon!

There is a lot going on in downtown Muncie tonight! First Thursday, Arts Walk, Soup Crawl, and The Mark will be set up with our new merch at YART! TONIGHT ONLY, our classic logo hoodies are only $40! (If we don’t have your size, you can still come and pay for one, and we will order it for you!) Hope to see everyone there!

Just a reminder.. If you have any ideas for designs at the new Mark III Taproom, get them in to us by next week! It doesn’t need to be super formal! We look forward to going through them all!

The Mark III Taproom has always been more than just a bar, it’s our LGBTQIA+ safe space, built by and for our community since 1968. Now, as we reopen in our new forever home, we want to invite you to help shape its future by helping create a vibrant, inclusive, and exciting space that reflects the spirit and identity of the community.

We are inviting artists, designers, creatives, and dreamers from our community to help shape the design of the new Mark III Taproom! Whether you are a pro designer or just passionate about style and culture, this is your chance to leave your mark. Our contest asks you to give us ideas in order to help us design an element of The Mark, whether it’s a fresh spin on our iconic martini-glass logo, a mural concept, a color palette, or another artistic feature that feels uniquely us.

The top finalists will be invited to sit in with the Mark III design team!

The winning concept(s) could become part of The Mark’s look for years to come!

We're looking for design proposals or concepts for any of the following:
Stage and performance area
Bar/lounge space
Mural
Feature Wall
Art pieces
Lighting
Color schemes/pallettes
Furniture & layout ideas
Themes or vibes
Brand, Logos, & Merch

Submission Deadline: September 30th, 2025 at 11:59PM EST
Finalists Announced: Top 5 announced in October on Mark III Taproom Facebook and Newsletter!
Community Voting Period: TBA in October
Winner Announced: On social media (Date TBA)
