One of the greatest things about Special Olympics isn’t the medals.

It’s the camaraderie.

It’s the sportsmanship.

It’s watching athletes cheer just as loudly for the person next to them as they do for themselves.

It’s seeing pure joy, determination, friendship and respect all wrapped into one event.

These athletes show all of us what it looks like to support one another, compete with dignity and celebrate every accomplishment.

And speaking of accomplishments…Sara brought home FIRST PLACE!

Congratulations, Sara! Your Barn Door family is proud of you!🏅

Now, if the rest of us could learn to celebrate each other’s successes the way these athletes do, the world would be a much better place.

If you make it to town, I encourage you to stop and watch some of these athletes.

As for us, we open at 11:30 am and go until 10 pm.

Special Olympics athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters are in town this weekend, and we couldn’t be happier to see all the excitement.

If you’re out cheering on the athletes, make sure to give them an extra loud shout-out. Their hard work, determination, and positive attitudes deserve every bit of support.
