Fonta Flora Brewery integrates the soul of agriculture with the artisanship of zymurgy to create a menagerie of rustic and savory libations. With an emphasis on seasonal flora, Fonta Flora brings English tradition and Belgian inspiration to the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. Fonta Flora utilizes local artists to help conceptualize the notion that fermentation is yet another medium for cr

eating art. This uniquely artisan approach to beer yields a sustainable product filled with culture from our very own community. https://twitter.com/FontaFloraBrew

HALF BIRTHDAYWINE [12.5]
// a blended barleywine-style ale double barrel-aged in privately selected barton 1792 barrels.

Mashed with local barley malt along with a unique and complex blend of the world’s very finest caramel and crystal malts. Fermented with our preferred house ale yeast for a robust, layered and full bodied drinking experience. Aged in saturated bourbon barrels and finished again in bourbon barrels but this time in privately selected barton 1792 barrels.

We constantly pour our hearts into our barleywine program and we think our half birthday namesake is yet another maillard masterpiece. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.

Dripping with sticky dried fruits, barrel depth, nutty nuances and complemented by swaths of salted vanilla, creme brulee and charred oak, Half Birthdaywine helps us celebrate what it
means to be getting older in craft beer. Happy Half Birthday to us! Stay sticky, y’all!

This bottle is dropping on Friday 05.22!

MEEMAW [BLEND #9]
// appalachian wild ale fermented with michigan-grown montmorency and balaton cherries.

Brewed with local barley from Riverbend Malt House and cereal mashed local raw wheat. Boiled with burlap-aged hops. Fermented with our mixed house cultures in one of our large wooden oak tanks. Transferred into oak for months of extended aging. Transferred out of oak onto a massive amount of a meticulous blend of whole Michigan-grown montmorency and balaton cherries. Fermented and aged on the whole cherries for months and months. Racked off the cherries and transferred back into oak for further maturation. Conditioned naturally inside the bottle and keg.

Perhaps the perfect fruit to marry with barrel-aged sour beer, we look forward to this blend year after year. Bursting with cherry marm and toasted lavender with complementary assertive acidity, blend 9 of this mainstay wild ale always keeps us coming back for more.

This brew will be available on 05.22 🍒

Coming out hot! 🥵 One of our newest pies is for all those lazy bones out there.

LAZY PIEROGI : When everyone’s tired of pinching pierogis all winter, we take our beloved “kapusta” (caramelized cabbage, onions and kraut) pair it with sausage and spring peas. Usually served with noodles in a polish household, we thought why not make it into a pizza. Come get lazy with this savory pie as we say goodbye to spring and begin to welcome in the summer produce.

COTRA HOP SPARKLING WATER
// Non-alcoholic

After we realized how many cans of Waterloo our team was crushing each day, we decided to take our sparkling water security into our own hands. With two wells at a combined depth of nearly 1,000ft that gives us all of our brewing water, we knew that with our own unique source of Appalachian well water, that we could offer a water with superior taste and a true sense of place.

Our latest offering, citra hop, is reminiscent of a pale ale, orange peel and a slight bitterness from one of our most favorite hop varietals.

UNUSUAL FREQUENCY [Track 14]
// a charles towne fermentory-style hazy double india pale ale hopped with citra, citra cryo and motueka

Waaaaaaaay back in 2021, we launched a series of collaborative hazy double IPA’s dubbed unusual frequency. The goal, as hazy newbs, was to explore the style through the minds of some of the best in the industry to do it.

Well it seems as if time got away from us and now five years in, these beers have become an important and “usual” part of our portfolio. Though maybe not so unusual for us these days, we use this series as an opportunity to explore hops, haze and music from the beautiful minds of friends, both new and old, who we think do it best.

An idea to utilize sound wavelengths surfaced and then became a bit more concise. Our very own Brit Josa took that idea and said, “what if we have the brewery tell us what song best represents them and use a wavelength from that song”. And to bring it all home, add a qr code to that song on the label art so the drinker can be immersed in the full experience.

Representing Track 14 of this ongoing project features our new friends at Charles Towne Fermentory of Charleston, South Carolina. Longtime admirers of the beers they are whipping up, we leaned hard into their approach and together dreamed up a hazy DIPA utilizing their philosophy and techniques. Incorporating new school hops and modern techniques, we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

And be sure to scan the QR code for our desired sensory experience! Available in cans at all three of our taproom locations starting this Friday 05.15
