For those friends of Herby, up here in the Northwoods....

Herbert Blair Anker, 63, of Mora, Minnesota, passed away following a tragic ATV accident on August 20, 2026.

Herby was loved by all. Whether you met him on the ice, while he was fishing, or on the road while he was driving his truck, he was always passionate about whatever he was doing. Herby could always be identified by his well-decorated boat or by that familiar “Yee, Yee!” that those around him knew so well.

He spent many years as a truck driver before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Patsy Anker; his wife, Kimberly Ferraro Anker; his brother, Bryan Anker; and his sister, Roseann Anker.

He is survived by his children, Brianna (Jesse) Lockwood, Mathew, Thomas, Emma, and Brian Ferraro Anker; his stepdaughter, Catrina (Jason) Brown; his sisters, Judy (Jamie) Henderson, Brenda (Ron) Engell, Patti (Scott) Becker, Jean Patten; Greg (Sandee) Anker; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Herby’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Northwoods Steakhouse in Mora, Minnesota- 2732 MN-65, Mora, MN 55051.
