Today, the Monticello VFW proudly joins communities across America in celebrating Flag Day, a day dedicated to honoring the symbol of our nation’s freedom, unity, and resilience.

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States. For nearly 250 years, our flag has represented the courage of those who have served, sacrificed, and defended the freedoms we cherish.

As we display our flag today, let us take a moment to reflect on what it stands for and remember the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform.

🇺🇸 Teach the next generation its meaning.
🇺🇸 Honor our Veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.

Today, the Monticello VFW Post 8731 proudly joins our nation in celebrating the birthday of the United States Army. Since June 14, 1775, generations of Soldiers have answered the call to serve, defend our freedoms, and protect our great nation.

For over 250 years, the Army has stood as a symbol of courage, strength, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. We honor all who have worn the Army uniform—past and present—and thank you for your service to our country.
