Hello. It is with great disappointment that I reach out to you today. I have decided with regret to close the Chophouse. There are many factors that led to the closure of what has been the most rewarding venture in my life to date. It's been very hard saying good bye to all the great customers over the years, but even harder to say good bye to our great staff. Thanks to all that have dined with us through the years. We will miss you.

TBT - The Chophouse Vintage Year opened back in 1984 as Montgomery’s only specialty wine shop called The Vintage Year. Soon after that we began selling gourmet lunch and later added dinner.

Did you know? One of the most expensive bottles of wine ever sold was a bottle of CHÂTEAU LAFITE 1787. It was sold in 1985 for $156,450! That makes the price per glass for this bottle a little over $26,000! What made it so special? It had the initial Th.J. etched into it for Thomas Jefferson. During his time as ambassador to France, he would go out to Bordeaux and Burgundy looking for wine to stock his cellar back at home.
