How we became Pirates.

After several years of coming to Lake Ponderosa on the weekends, Joe and Kim (McMeekin) Heemstra moved with their two boys to Lake Ponderosa full time in 2017. They previously were frequent visitors of the previous restaurant at the Marina with their family and friends. When it closed in 2018, they saw a need for a family friendly place that you could float up or ATV up to around their beloved Lake Ponderosa. So, in spring of 2019 they approached the owner of the building and asked if they could be the proprietors of a new concept. With the encouragement of friends, family, and the wonderful community of Montezuma/Ponderosa .... they walked the plank. Pirates they became. We hope that everyone can enjoy the family friendly concept they envision. Cheers!
