Comanche Cellars is a small winery on the Monterey Peninsula of California
named for a boyhood companion, a horse named Comanche. We have 17 different wines -- sparkling, white, rose and red.

The countdown is on. ⏳

Late summer into fall is easily our most exhausting stretch of the year. Once fruit starts rolling into the cellar, it’s just non-stop punchdowns, pressing, and late nights trying to keep up.

It’s heavy work, but seeing it finally settle into barrel makes every bit of it worth it. We’re getting close to bottling what’s next, and we can’t wait to have it open and pouring for everyone at the tasting room downtown.

If this boy and his horse are out on the sidewalk, our doors are open! 🐴🍷

Did you know the story behind our name? Our winemaker, Michael, named our tiny, handcrafted winery after Comanche - his horse from when he was just ten years old. While Michael trades the saddle for a bicycle these days to keep up with his obsession for crafting small-lot wines, his old friend’s legacy lives on.

Comanche’s name and horseshoes grace every single bottle we make as a loving tribute and a token of good luck for whoever opens it.
