FYI…Elsie will be on vacation from the 27th of July until the 14th of August. The bar will be open but if you are wanting to meet her it will be the middle of August. See you then!!

As many of you know, the Monowi Tavern is proudly run by Elsie Eiler, the one and only resident of Monowi, Nebraska. At 92 years young, Elsie still loves welcoming visitors from all over the world and sharing the incredible history of our tiny town.

We kindly ask for your understanding and patience when visiting. While Elsie enjoys serving guests, she is no longer able to prepare meals for large crowds or big groups all at once.

Please don’t let that stop you from stopping by! Come in for a cold drink, snap some photos, sign the guest book, and spend a little time chatting with Elsie. She has stories, memories, and wisdom that make a visit to Monowi truly special.

Thank you for helping us preserve this one-of-a-kind place and for showing kindness and respect to the amazing woman who keeps the spirit of Monowi alive.💕
