I don't often get on a soapbox and post my opinion about something. But I was listening to a podcast and what the host said rang true to me on so many levels. It was the National Fire Radio podcast. Jeremy said that "When a leader lacks knowledge and experience and they are not confident in their skills and abilities they will not let anyone flourish beneath them." I've seen and heard this a lot lately and it is very, very concerning. We have to let the new guys coming in have a passion for this field and to let them grow exponentially and not hold them down or hold them back. - National Fire Radio podcast #339.
