This is one of the biggest difference’s in a custom rod is how the handle is built which directly relates to sensitivity! This is the handle of a high end rod that rhymes with E Bloomis…you can see there is only 3 sections of MASKING TAPE behind the reel seat!!! I build all my rods with a solid piece of graphite so you have solid contact with the blank the entire length of the grip! Yes…it makes a huge difference and you can actually feel fish fart with a Dakota Hills Custom Rod! BTW, I build on the same blanks as many of those shelf rods as mentioned above and it’s customized, built better, and often cheaper!!

I’m up early and reflecting on a very personally challenging week. There is so much ugliness in our word today. I DO NOT accept it!
We are all a bag of bones in a bag of skin. I challenge you to not accept it either. Do something nice for someone just because you want to and don’t do it for a return. That person you might ignore or ridicule in your head…give them an intentional “How are you” or just take a minute and acknowledge them as another human being. This doesn’t cost you anything but time and that as well is something we all have and often spend in the wrong way.
If your feeling like you don’t matter, I assure you that you matter to me!

I do have some higher end blanks on the way. They will be either 6’8” Med or 7’2” Med action both fast tip. If your looking to have 1 made, I promise you this will be the one you turn to! I am going to be closing the rod page soon. I am the chapter coordinator for Guitars 4 Vets - Minot ND and want to make sure I focus my FB time on that page. I will ABSOLUTELY still be making rods as usual so please feel free to contact me anytime for your custom project. Trying to keep up with several FB pages is way more time than I want to spend on FB!
