Our Story

Club Bantu is a 4,000 years’ narrative of the Bantu people whose origins are in West Africa. A nomadic group of people who migrated from West Africa and spread their influence and civilization throughout Africa and the Americas. This is their music! Club Bantu is dedicated to building a community of culturally literate people through music and arts entertainment events that engage and promote civic engagement. Club Bantu, is a community of people who love to dance!

Club Bantu founded in Minneapolis, MN in Summer 2012 as 'Club Bantu' and 'Club C'est la Vie' Nightclub, focused on Afrobeats and African Music is the brainchild of Arrola Idehen and Dominic Nzara veteran Night Club owners and music promoters whose 30 year careers have origins in Blackjoy Entertainment, a reggae sound system and events entertainment company founded in 1982 in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Tafadzwa 'DJ TaZ' Nzara later formed Club Bantu - Austin, TX in February 2017 after retiring from running and promoting Latin Music events and Nightclubs for over 10 years.

After rekindling his love for African Music he combined his passionates for African Music and Latin Music and intercultural community building work he was doing with his nonprofit, Indianapolis Intercultural Network (IIN) to form Club Bantu - Austin, TX Arts Entertainment and Record Label. He formed Club Bantu - Austin, TX to write a musical historical narrative that traces the Bantu civilization from its origins in West Africa and the influence it has had on the music and lives of people on the African continent and the Americas.
