Hi Everyone!

We want to sincerely thank all of you for sharing your personal Herkimer experiences with us over the last couple of days. We're honestly overwhelmed with the amount of love that has poured in, and it has been an uplifting experience for us during this difficult time. We are very excited to re-open and share this moment with you, and we expect to see a lot of people over the next two days. Therefore, please take a moment to read over these customer guidelines we are asking of you!

1. We need everyone to remember we are in the middle of a pandemic, and we all need to act accordingly. We have set up social distancing measures, but there is only so much we can do without your cooperation. So PLEASE, be mindful of the measures we have taken to keep you and everyone else safe!

2. WEAR A MASK! If you do not want to wear one because you are outside, BRING A MASK WITH YOU ANYWAY! Again, we are in the middle of a pandemic, and it would be incredibly unfortunate if anyone's health was compromised by not taking simple safety precautions. YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INSIDE THE HERKIMER IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MASK ON. NO EXCEPTIONS. We love all of you, and we care about our staff beyond comprehension. They are coming back to work in a pandemic too, and we need to do our part to keep them safe. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MASK YOU CAN PURCHASE ONE FROM US FOR $2.

3. We will have an outside area for you to hang out and enjoy the weather while socially distancing. Please come inside to purchase beer, glassware, swag, and bid on some items we'll be auctioning off. We then ask that you enjoy your drinks outside where there is more space available. Our inside tables are socially distanced, so if you find a table or bar seat that is open you are more than welcome to sit there. But please, do not crowd inside The Herkimer!

4. There are trash cans set up throughout the restaurant and outside as well, please throw your own trash away when you are done at a table so we can keep our space clean for everyone's enjoyment. This will also expedite us being able to sanitize commonly used areas for your safety.

5. Our kitchen will not be open today or tomorrow. You can order or bring food, but you will be asked to eat either outside or at a table you have snagged. You will not be permitted to stand and eat inside The Herkimer since masks are required when you are away from your table. If you eat while you are here, please make sure to throw your trash away when you are done.

6. It is incredibly important that you stay inside the blockaded area if you are outside with drinks. Please do not make us hassle you about this, we truly just want to have a total blast with you today. If you happen to see someone else outside the barriers we've set up with alcohol, please kindly remind them of this on our behalf-- we would be immensely grateful for your assistance.

THANK YOU for taking the time to read these guidelines! WE ARE A RANGE OF EMOTIONS OVER GETTING READY TO SEE YOU ONE LAST TIME AT THE HERKIMER ❤️

With gratitude,
The Herkimer Team

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that after 20 years, The Herkimer will be closing permanently at the end of June. We know The Herkimer has been a second home to SO many of us over the years, and we are extremely sad that our time with you is coming to an end. The industry is so uncertain right now and we’re simply unsure how we would be able to navigate these times with confidence, knowing there is so much more uncertainty to come. This has been a heartbreaking decision to make for our phenomenal guests and our fiercely loyal staff.

Prior to the Coronavirus outbreak, it had become increasingly apparent that the evolving character of the industry was becoming less able to sustain a neighborhood pub like us. We are, and always will be, eternally grateful to the wonderful people of the Twin Cities and the loyal Packer fans who saw us as much more than a beloved neighborhood bar in Lyn-Lake.

Although our physical doors will be closing, we will live on through two decades of wonderful memories that have made us who we are. The Herkimer family would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the opportunity to serve you and the incredible memories you made with us along the way. We cannot express how much we will miss you, and we truly thank you for making each night of service so memorable. To simply say that we’ve gone through so much change over the last 20 years with our staff and community would understate the significance we place on the relationships we’ve built.

Fortunately, this isn’t goodbye just yet! The Herkimer will be open Tuesday 6/23 and Wednesday 6/24 from 3pm-12am, for a final sendoff with all of you. We have [years!] of Herkimer branded glassware for sale and we’ll have three beers available so we can end our time together on a tasty note. Please share your favorite Herkimer memories with us, we’d love nothing more than to experience your remembrance of us to fill our hearts.

We are so fortunate to have been able to have this time with all of you, and we know we’ll live on in our Herkimer Hearts.

With sincere love and gratitude,

The Herkimer Team

PS: if you’ll allow us a moment of nostalgia, we came across our original opening invitation postcard sent out for December 3rd, 1999.
