Hello!

Following up on last week’s post - the Corner Bar’s final open day will be Sunday, August 24. The Comedy Corner will close after Saturday, August 23, and we’re adding one last extra open mic at 10 PM that night. That means there are just three open mics left if you want one more before we go.

Huge thanks to all the Vikings fans (and Vikings World Order), U of M students, Carlson, Augsburg, and everyone who’s been part of our crowd. And of course, thank you to the amazing staff we’ve had over these last 22 years for making this place - with the most generic name on earth - feel special to so many.

Hey friends

It’s not the post we wanted to make, but it looks like the Corner Bar is coming to the end of its long run in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.

The building was sold in July, and no new lease is being offered. We don’t have a final closing date just yet, but we’ll keep everyone posted as soon as we know.

Until then, we’re here, the beer is cold, the joey wings are hot and we’d love to see as many of you as we can before the lights go out.

If you grew up watching Cooking with Tim on public access or you’ve ever been lucky enough to share a meal, a joke, or a cup of coffee with Tim, you already know: he’s the kind of guy who fills the room with warmth, laughter, and maybe just a touch too much butter.

Now, as he faces a tough health battle, we’re rallying the community the way Tim would want β€” with jokes, hugs, and probably a few too many beers.

A couple great comics (.j.matheson & ) are going to put on one hell of a performance from 6-7pm. Followed by a show our regular show at 8pm.
