We didn’t know this was so until recently, but with the E-scooters coming, it’s gonna become more of a thing.

A friendly reminder; with the nice weather brings skaters and bicyclists. Although Milwaukie supports alternative means of transportation, certain areas of the city have restrictions regarding the use of bicycles and skateboards/skates.

10.36.070 RIDING ON SIDEWALKS RESTRICTED
No person shall ride a bicycle upon a sidewalk within a business district, downtown, or in a commercial area unless such area is designated part of a foot-bike pathway. (Ord. 1385 § 2, 1978: Ord. 1360 § 10(7), 1977)

10.44.070 ROLLERSKATE, SKATEBOARD, AND INLINE SKATE REGULATIONS
No person shall ride roller-skates, skateboards, or inline skates within any commercial or industrial zones, as shown on the map attached to the ordinance codified in this section. Use of the above devices in any commercial or industrial zones, except where authorized, is prohibited. Use of the above devices is allowed in residential zones, except where prohibited. (Ord. 1846 § 1, 1998: Ord. 1360 § 8(8), 1977)
