Indiana folks, check this out.
Happy July everyone. First, the newsletter should have hit your inboxes by now! Dave Broxterman will be leading a discussion on overwintering nucs. Yes, that work starts now! Nucs are a valuable beekeepers tool and if you are not yet familiar with them, it's essential! Next, we're still working to fill the morning shift for the State Fair coming up. All the details are in the newsletter (link below).

IN OTHER NEWS: We've been working hard on SIBA as an organization over the last several months, and you may have heard that we're working to be a more formal organization. That means, we have to have a board and officers, and yes… have dues. Fear not however… $1 per year or $20 for a lifetime membership should not be a major hindrance to how you have been using SIBA.
As a club going forward, we need to have an active member roster to be recognized as a non-profit organization.
We do have a group of us who have been serving in the board capacity for the time-being, but fall elections for SIBA are coming up in October, so we are asking everyone who is interested in becoming a member or an officer to let us know!
You will be able to pay dues online (but there will be a $2 surcharge to cover online credit card fees for each transaction). Alternatively, you can come to a meeting and look up Doty Bischoff to pay directly. We have established our status with the state for banking and are working on our tax exempt status. Having a large member role helps in the application process. We are happy to talk about this at the meeting, so please, if you have any questions, let’s talk about this and keep the same great spirit of our club moving forward with fresh perspectives and leadership. If you are interested in helping shape SIBA to make a positive impact on our local beekeeping community, please reach out to let us know!
