We there this summer gang 💪🏾
America’s tallest waterslide, "The Rise of Icarus,” will debut this weekend at Mt. Olympus Resorts & Parks in the Wisconsin Dells.
Towering 145 feet above the ground, “The Rise of Icarus” contains five body slides — the tallest one named “The Fall” from its top platform, as well as four others from its 60-foot-tall middle platform. The park revealed they put the new slide "to the test" on Wednesday and it passed, meaning it will officially be open to the public this Memorial Day weekend.
"As the Greek myth goes, Icarus soared too close to the sun on wings fastened to his body with wax, with the heat of the sun melting the wax and Icarus falling to the sea," the park's website reads. "Here at Mt. Olympus you’ll experience a much happier ending at the bottom of the slides!"
Mt. Olympus is also in the process of adding a new outdoor children’s water play area — Icaria Splash ‘n Slide — designed for small children to pre-teens. The new section will open July 4 and feature a 12,000-square-foot kiddie area with 10 slides, water play features and a wading pool.
