Well, this isn’t what we planned on posting today. 💔
Just got back from Gatlinburg, Tennessee with the kids, including a trip to Dollywood — and one thing was very clear: Dolly is the Queen of Tennessee.
You can feel her spirit everywhere. The warmth. The joy. The pride in where she came from. The way she created something enormous while never losing sight of the people and place that made her who she was.
Dolly was also a pioneer for so many women. Long before “women in business” was something we talked about the way we do today, she was building an empire on her own terms. She owned her work, made smart business decisions, created opportunities for other people and proved that kindness and ambition could absolutely exist in the same woman.
As a woman and small business owner myself, there’s something pretty incredible about standing in a place she dreamed up and actually built — especially with my kids beside me.
Dollywood feels like an extension of everything she stood for. Joyful, generous, welcoming and unapologetically Tennessee.
What a woman. What a life. What a legacy.
Feeling especially grateful we got to experience a little piece of her world together. ❤️
